Wine Description
The Story
The Cuvée Rosé from Laurent-Perrier is the most recognized rosé champagne in the world. It is also one of the few rosés still made by the saignée method. Held in an elegant bottle inspired by King Henri IV, it has been widely acknowledged for its consistent high quality for more that 40 years, and it is the benchmark for rosé champagne around the world.
Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé is truly remarkable for its highly expressive bouquet, stemming from very careful preservation of fresh fruit aromas during the wine making. Made with 100% Pinot Noir from 10 different "crus " (or villages), from the North and South areas of the Montagne de Reims, as well as the famous Cote de Bouzy. Grapes from carefully selected plots are meticulously sorted and de-stemmed before going into the vats, and the controlled maceration helps with the color extraction and the development of the full aromatic richness of the Pinot Noir.
Intensely fruity flavors, clean and slightly sharp, the wine opens to the sensation of freshly picked red berries: strawberries, Morello cherries, black currants and raspberries. The finish is supple and rounded.
Wine Information
Cuvée Rosé
Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier is unique in terms of its history, the way it is made, and the design of its bottle.
Prior to 1968, making non-vintage rosé champagne was virtually unthinkable. It was in the midst of a cultural revolution that the visionary Bernard de Nonancourt gave it its credentials. This daring wine combines real structure with freshness and a soft, vinous character.
In its elegant bottle inspired by the times of French King Henri IV, Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier soon made a name for itself worldwide.
Vinification & ageing
Since 1968, the House has been constantly developing the qualities of Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier through the know-how and wide experience of its Cellar Masters. The entire range of techniques, the maceration process, vinification and blending have been deployed to extract the colour and obtain the best just-picked berry-fruit aromas at every step. This is what guarantees the freshness and liveliness of the wine. After all, Laurent-Perrier can be credited with boldly developing a non-vintage Cuvée Rosé, and, as a result, it has to be perfect - every time
After bottling, it takes a minimum of four years to coax the 75cl bottles of Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier to perfection, and an additional two years for magnums.
