Displaying plenty of blueberry and black raspberry fruit, the soft, luscious 2011 Proprietary Red Blend Pluribus has more depth and concentration than it did from barrel. Full-bodied, opulent and complex, this beauty should drink nicely for 15-20 years.

The Story

PLURIBUS expresses the character of an estate located at an elevation over 1,100 feet on the dramatic slopes of Spring Mountain.

The name refers to the Latin word for many, and was chosen to signify the various facets involved in creating a fine wine: from the sun, soil, and climate of a vineyard, to the team of people who guide a wine through its evolution. A breathtaking mountainous 7-acre site with steep exposures to the north, east and southeast, the soil is comprised of volcanic bedrock. Pluribus, which debuted in the 2003 vintage, is defined as a bold, rich and concentrated wine; elements of dark plum, roasted coffee, and scents of cedar are inherent throughout the vintages.

SOIL: Decomposed volcanic material. Surrounded by a conifer forest. North and East Exposure.

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is ruby red, purple, and looking dark and deep. On the nose it is open, youthful and ripe. The taste is fresh, fruity, perfumed, fragrant, vivid, refined, with high tannin ., with drying tannins, and high in acidity, full-bodied, with balanced, well-structured, concentrated structure, youthful and the palate is aggressive. On the palate it is layered and has toasty, spice, cardamom, blackcurrant, raspberry, perfumed and floral flavours. The finish is long, lingering, pure, vibrant and a bit too bitter .. This wine is intelligent and beauty. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years and decant at least over 4h before tasting.
