Wine Information
Barolo Le Rocche del Falletto – Bruno Giacosa
The Azienda Agricola Falletto Winery comprises twenty hectares of vineyards within the Serralunga d'Alba, La Morra and Barbaresco areas in Italy. The vine growing and wine making processes are followed through with care from beginning to end, culminating with vinification and ageing within own cellars in Neive.
In the cellars, trained personnel works in time to the rhythms of nature, vinifying grapes cultivated according to local traditions with full respect to the environment. Their conviction is that great wines begin in the vineyard with the production of grapes cultivated by experienced growers. This gives the impetus to improve quality with every harvest.
People at Falletto Winery combine the past and present in a harmonious way. They possess the latest in modern technology but also respect traditions to produce a wine that maintains its identity, from vine to bottle. The wine making methods are therefore traditional in full respect of the grape’s typical characteristics.
The knowledge, passion and wisdom that Bruno Giacosa brings to his work as producer of fine wines is the fruit of the dedication of three generations of wine makers.
The family interest in vine cultivation began during the constant search for the best vineyards from which to buy the grapes necessary for wine making. The next step, naturally, was to acquire some of the same vineyards for the family business – and the one after that, to specialise in the Nebbiolo grape and the grand wines made from it.
That Bruno Giacosa is a perfectionist is obvious from the meticulousness with which he applies his craft. But it also includes, naturally enough, the choice not to bottle those mediocre vintages deemed unworthy of vinification.
Bruno’s art encompasses passion and clear judgement but, above all, the utmost respect for his product, its admirers and for the beautiful countryside where he and his family were born and raised.
