Vintage Report

BURGUNDY / Rarely seen wartime vintage of excellent quality. A classic growing season with a mild spring, some uneven fruit-setting resulting in a smaller quantity of grapes. Summer was warm but not excessively so, and led to a warm, dry September. Harvest in mid-October was undertaken by the women and old men since most young men were serving in the armed forces. Remarkable structure, silky tannins and fine bouquet. Great classic vintage, perfect wines.
