The Story

Jacob’s Creek Reserve is a range of premium wines that capture the true character of selected varieties, grown in the regions that are renowned for high quality expressions of that variety.  This Reserve Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is sourced from the cool climate of Adelaide Hills region. The resulting wine is complex but elegant with crisp fruit flavours and good levels of acidity.

OVERVIEW  A modern, cool climate expression of Chardonnay with great balance and length

COLOUR   Straw yellow with hints of green

AROMA  The nose showcases white peach, citrus and subtle fig notes.

TASTE  A creamy textural palate with citrus, cashew and cedar notes.

ENJOY WITH  Serve chilled. An ideal accompaniment to creamy pasta dishes or roasted chicken.

IDEAL DRINKING WINDOW  Drinking well now, will develop with 3-5 years careful cellaring.

REGION  Adelaide Hills

VINTAGE CONDITIONS  A warm, dry spring offered ideal conditions for vine and flower development, followed by a cool summer.  Welcomed January rains delivered fruit with great flavour and acid retention.

WINEMAKING  Regular vineyard inspections ensured the fruit was harvested at the ideal time. Selected parcels were then carefully pressed and fermented with a combination of natural and inoculated yeast. Matured in French oak for 8 months with minimal intervention has imparted a wide range of textures, secondary characters and complexity to the fruit characters.
