History

In 2003 the Petit family added 3 hectares in Saint-Emilion. Château La Révérence located behing the village, on the high « plateau » going to Pomerol, this small vineyard is facing some very famous Grand Cru Classé. Its uniqueness lies in the presence of very old cabernet franc making  half of the total grape varieties  with aromatic complexity and density.

In 2004, we have done a new step to the prestigious appellation of  Pomerol : Château Lécuyer. 3 hectares forming the blend are distributed over beautiful land: Clay-gravel plateau of Pomerol, near the church : the soil is richly concentrated in clay, giving the plant a constant moisture regime, resulting in generous wines and racy.

The bottom shelf of the village consists of a cover of sand on clay : this land offers fine and elegant wines. A small modern winery was built there in 2000. This wine is identified throughout the refinement of Pomerol, for the complex aromas of merlot, the silky texture of its tannins and great lenght.

Vineyards

We produce four distinctive wines:

Château Tournefeuille - Lalande de Pomerol

Rosalcy – Lalande de Pomerol

Château Lécuyer – Pomerol

Château La Révérence – Saint Emilion Grand Cru

Château TOURNEFEUILLE is situated in the commune of Néac within the sound of the church bells. Its vines cover 18 hectares forming one entity around the château, fermenting room and wine store. But what makes this estate special is the magnificent slopes on which it is perched, affording a wonderful view.

Lit up in the afternoon by the hot sun of the south and bathed in orange light at sunset, it dominates the Barbanne valley. This river gently meanders between Pomerol and Néac, forming the hold border separating the former English and French seigneuries.

Today it separates the seigneuries of Pomerol and Lalande, offering a splendid view of the Pétrus plateau. If history and landscape give this wine a definite attraction, the land is also part of the wine. Château TOURNEFEUILLE extends a unit of 17 hectares of vines, gathered around the chateau and its cellar, spread over 4 distinct terroirs :

A south facing hillside, based on a very nice clay soil with very good water regulation ; the wines express roundness and density, strength and length;

A gravel ridge forming the top of the hill; grape maturity is early, the wines are elegant and complex;

A second north facing hillside, on beautiful gravelly clays, it is a revelation in  hot vintages;

A plateau clay-loam soils, developing towards the village of Néac, where the wines are powerful and structured.

Merlot and cabernet franc derive from this land all their complexity by easily reaching perfect ripeness and quality.
