History
Chateau Tronquoy-Lalande is currently one of St.-Estephe's best-kept secrets, and certainly one of it's best-value wines. Purchased in 2006 by brothers Martin and Olivier Bouygues a few months after they purchased neighbouring behemoth Chateau Montrose, Tronquoy-Lalande's fortunes and prestige have leapt immeasurably since then. The impressive, if modestly-sized Chateau itself is surrounded by 18 hectares of superbly-sited vineyards, on prime gravelly soils, planted to roughly equal portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a few percent of Petit Verdot in a single plot.
