Montaribaldi

Tradition and innovation. This is the oxymoron on which the Montaribaldi company grounds its great success. Founded in 1968 in the very heart of the Langhe hills, in the small town of Barbaresco, by Giuseppe Talliano and his wife, it was then taken over in 1994 by their sons Luciano and Roberto. Now the whole family is running it, brewing  with passion the best quality wines while always respecting and promoting the oldest traditions.
 

As matter of fact, in the last few years, the company has decided to bet on innovation without changing its best  traditions. It is exactly that which makes the company able to continuously improve the quality of its wines, while always promoting its land.

Such careful management,  along with the favorable climate conditions, the richness of the soil, the accurate selection of the grapes and the careful vinification, let Montaribaldi obtain a wide range of excellent, unique wines which are appreciated all over the world and which have become a clear example of their “glocal” philosophy.

Our final goal is to produce wines which are deeply attached to our terroir, wines that our clients may immediately identify, recognize and distinguish among the others.

Then it is of crucial importance for us to carefully select the grape varietals we use (almost all our wines are made up of autocthonous varieties), to carry out production techniques which are both traditional and innovative and to work according  with the principle of the sustainable agriculture. Therefore, the integrated production is the guideline behind our work. We then use every mean we have to reduce the environmental impact to the lowest level

Practically we have to:

know in depth what happens in our agro-ecosystem, so to intervene properly and only when really necessary;

think at the vineyard as a whole, and not as single compartments. In this way we are able to consider every interrelationship which may influence both the environment and the production yield;

pay the highest attention not only to the vineyard, but also to everything which surrounds it, like the border spaces—of vital importance for the agro-ecosystem from both the functional and scenic point of view-.

We then strongly believe that this helps and will always help us in our work in both the short and long period. Because, as Luigi Einaudi said:

“[…] thousands, millions of people work, produce and save in spite of everything we can invent to bother, stop, discourage them[…]  it is the natural vocation which drives them[…] the taste, the proud to see your company prosper…” 

And, we might add, the proud to contribute to spread our terroir and our tradition all around the world.
