History

The cornerstone values of our winery, experience and innovation, are attributes we are extremely proud of, since they can only be the result of constant dedication, endeavor and an eagerness to evolve day by day. With over 120 years experience in the wine industry, our winery was one of the first to be founded in Argentina. All along, innovation has been our determinant attribute, as well as a key element to positioning ourselves before the ever shifting consumer preferences.

Technology and state-of-the-art winemaking techniques are driving forces for our company at present and signal our future. Our history speaks of who we are today and why our wines get increasingly selected in the domestic and foreign markets.

1891 - Founded by Luis Tirasso, an Italian immigrant and a pioneer in the development of winemaking in Argentina.

1979 - Bodegas Santa Ana gets to lead sales in the domestic market by launching innovative, successful products.

1980 - The fruit of growth and consolidation in the Argentinian market over the years, Bodegas Santa Ana sets to the task of tackling the international market, translating its success to that category as well.

Today - Sustained leadership in the domestic market. Significant development and consolidation in over 50 countries worldwide.

Inside information

When to store wine

Wine can be stored when its features make it suitable for bottle aging. Such information is usually available on the label or fact sheet, but if this is not the case, bear in mind that wines of good aging potential are often reds that have been aged in oak, with good alcohol-acidity balance and strong tannins. A telling sign: the bottle should feature a punt at the bottom.

Opening a long-stored bottle to discover the aromas and colors that have been growing over time is both thrilling and surprising. An interesting fact: the more wine in the bottle, the longer it can be stored. Wine is a living organism, sensitive to outer stimuli.
