The year was 1884. In view of the saying “res non verba”, brothers Francisco and António Borges, who possessed exceptional qualities – dynamism, perseverance and intelligence – founded the company whose legacy – deeply-rooted in actions more than words  – has been able to advance the reputation of Borges wines.

Conscious of the need to control the production process from the planting of the vineyard, Borges is present in the main demarcated Portuguese regions: in Vinhos Verdes, Quinta de Simaens with 46 hectares; in Douro, Quinta da Soalheira with 340 hectares and in Dão Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira with 74 hectares. Recently, Borges has increased the direct production capacity in the Dão region with 100 hectares more.

Camões, the great Portuguese Poet from the 16th century, asked for “talent and art” for singing “the illustrious Lusitanian breast”… Borges wines act as art, thanks to the talent that has become stronger throughout more than 120 years of history.
