Wine Description
The Story
Colmei is a Venetian dialectical term meaning "small hills" or clusters that form a hill. Altitude, exposure and the richness of the soil favour the development of fine aromas. Premium Prosecco grapes and advanced techniques in the winery, like cold maceration, permit production of a complex and elegant wine.
Brilliant straw yellow, this non-vintage wine is in many ways quintessential Prosecco. Intense honeysuckle, green apples, flowers and sweet spice aromas merge in its good mouth feel. With fine and vivacious effervescence, there is terrific energy and harmony here, but like most Proseccos, the wine is best enjoyed in its exuberant youth. Slightly sweet, balanced and youthful, a goblet of this spumante is appreciated at any time of the day or at any friendly gathering. As an aperitif, it stimulates the appetite to a surprising degree. At the table, it makes a pleasant accompaniment for daily meals consisting of light foods. Try it with imaginative rice salads.
