The Story

The 39 hectare Pessac Leognan vineyard is planted to red and white grape varietals. For the red wines, the vineyard is planted to 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc and 2.5% Petit Verdot. The white grapes are planted to an even mix of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon. The vine density of the Chateau de Fieuzal vineyards is on average, 8,300 vines per hectare.

Written Notes

Medium deep colour. Wood varnish, dark plum, chinotto aromas. Sweet cassis flavours and attractive new toasty oak notes. fine sweet ripe slightly al-dente tannins. Finishes cedary finish. Very good wine. 93 points

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Well concentrated nose with aroma reminiscent of ripe berries, vanilla, toasted oak and dark chocolate. On the palate well structured with good length, fine fruit, balanced tannins and pleasant mouthfeel.

De Fieuzal Pessac Leognan Very deep colour here. Lovely nose again, very calm here quite lively black berry fruit. This is layered. Finishes very gently, the structure is there but well covered. This is a knockout best Fieuzal ever. 91-93/100 2022-2035
