Written Notes

2015 Quintus – powerful, intense blueberries and blackberries which are perfectly ripe, splendid structure, complexity, well-balanced with fine length and finish. 91-92p.

Closed and subtle. Pretty powerful and weighty. Loads of fruit in the palate with medium long finish. Somehow the wine was not open at the moment when I tasted. Ir would need longer time to wake up. It also came to be a bit alcoholic in mouth and comparatively the second wine, Le Dragon de Quintus did give a lot of freshness and surprise. 90-92
  • 91p
Deep colour. Dark plum, dark chocolate with ginger notes. Rich and chocolaty with dark plum slight saline notes, savoury cedar oak notes, plush tannins and mineral length. Alcoholic kick at the finish. Very good concentration. 92 points

Will Gardener / Nickolls & Perks, Wine Dealer (United Kingdom)  tasted  Quintus 2015  ( Château Quintus )

"Quintus Saint Emilion Grand Cru - 76% Merlot 24% Cabernet Franc
Deep purple, the nose shines, very polished, lovely menthol tinged black fruit, beautiful aromatics, and there is intensity as well as opulence here, layered, spicy, quite a stunning palate, rides effortlessly into the finale which is spice inflected and chalky. It is so well balanced won't be long before its showing if it doesn't close down. 93-95/100, 2022-2050"

"Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Well balanced and concentrated nose, vibrant fruit, blackberries and ripe plums. Mulberries in the background. On the palate fresh and well structured with firm but mature tannins, full-bodied with excellent length. "
