<10 tasting notes
An almost even blend of grenache and shiraz – the scales tip ever so slightly in favour of grenache due to a small top up with a little bit of grenache from the '08 vintage (completely within legal limits, if that sounds odd to anyone).
This has density, ripeness and richness. For anyone wondering about the comparison between '08 and '09, grab a bottle of each and this should help. There is better length here. What is also appealing is the riper and fuller style. Lots of black fruits here and a backing of that ironstone, licorice, seaweed-ish character that they often get around the Vale in some of the reds.
