Bright mid gold; smells fresher, finer and notably more minerally than the Meursault. Beautifully balanced, moderately concentrated, lively middleweight; a vivid, dry, citrussy flavour, long, gently minerally, moderately complex and very elegant. Its definition and clear minerality make the Meursault seem rather plain, indeed, tasted blind the Desirée's length in the mouth might suggest a leaner style of 1er cru. A lovely lieu dit Meursault, at its peak, and perfect now, but no hurry.
