Wine Description
The Story
Origin
DO Terra Alta. Village of Vilalba dels Arcs.
Selection: parcel selection of the oldest and least vigorous vines.
Harvest during the period over September-October, looking for the optimum maturity and even slight state of over-ripeness.
Grape variety
100% White Grenache
Technical data
Alcohol content 19%
Vinfication
The grapes are gathered from the oldest vines of white Grenache, very carefully hand-harvested to maintain the fruit in healthy conditions. The highly concentrated must ferments slowly to convert the sugar into alcohol up to dryness.
Ageing
The ageing takes place in old barrels during many years with different levels of temperature. The long ageing (Solera started back in 1928) of approximately 50 years confers the unique complexity and style to this wine.
