The Story

As devotees of leisurely dining, the Heitz Family has given all of us a reason to linger since the introduction of their Ink Grade Port. Inspired by his travels in Portugal, David planted eleven ancient Portuguese varieties in the early 1990s that are flourishing in their Napa Valley home. In 1994, Heitz Cellars introduced Ink Grade Port --- an American classic from the inside out with amazingly smooth, rich flavors and a distinctive label glazed on the bottle.

Written Notes

Rich and full-bodied with a wonderfully balanced sweetness, Heitz Ink Grade Port has been a customer favorite since we introduced it in 1994.

The lush, fruitiness of this wine comes from a blend of eight classic Portuguese varieties. Our winemaker has combined several vintages to achieve an outstanding depth of dark berry flavors with smooth notes of honey.

You will not want to wait for dessert! Heitz Ink Grade Port is also terrific paired with your favorite cheese or by itself as an aperitif.
