Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle and in an perfect condition. Colour is brick red, and looking clear and medium. On the nose it is mature, seductive and complex. The taste is round, fresh, voluptuous, elegant, perfumed, and dry, low alcohol content, with medium tannin, with silky tannins, and average in acidity, medium-bodied, with multi-dimensional structure and mature. On the palate it is layered and has pepper, leather, cigar-box, truffles, coffee, earthy, smoky, cherry, toasty and tobacco flavours. The finish is endless. This wine is masterpiece. I paid around 100-200€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years and decant at least 45min before tasting. Good value for money. I do recommend.

Vina Tondonia Gran Reserva Cosecha 1981 – 12% alc  [10 years in oak]
Very mature brick rim, orangy red old brick bowl. Noce, very elegant, soft, light, delicate, like old cheese cloth which had been wrapped around a wheel of cheddar for years and wild garlic. Palate, silky, smooth, lovely old mature wine but completely alive because of the excellent acidity and mild tannin. *****
