The Story

Our Chardonnay is a top quality wine with great character traits. The wine originates from a mini-plot on the best slope and is produced only in very small amounts. The absolute attention to detail and meticulous screening and selection make this Chardonnay extremely distinctive. Proximity to the sea and the cool nights lend this wine its uniqueness and a suggestion of finesse worthy of a Burgundy.

Monteverro Chardonnay is bursting with sweet aromas of pear, honey, vanilla, apricot, and white chocolate. It is balanced by mild notes of white truffles and roasted nuts. The first sips are fresh revealing enticing stone fruit and citrus flavors of white peach and blood orange; the wine quickly evolves to showcase a complex white with excellent minerality and a lingering finish with hints of candied orange peel and marzipan. The wine undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation on fine lees and is then aged in 30% new French oak barrels and 70% egg-shaped concrete tanks for 14 months.

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle, in an perfect condition and has by the neck level. Colour is yellow, and looking bright and full. On the nose it is intense, refined, opulent, generous and rich. The taste is full, vigor, fragrant, vivid, firm, full-bodied, with concentrated, balanced, well-structured structure and developing. On the palate it is layered and has dried-fruit, perfumed, honey, blueberry, white fruits and violet flavours. The finish is long, extensive and pure. This wine is sexy, exotic and excellent. I paid around 50-100€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 20-30 years and decant at least 2h before tasting. Good value for money. I do recommend.

Light yellow colour. Refined and complex nose with elegant toastiness and sophisticated ripe fruitiness. Dry and broad on palate with gently buttery texture and discreet oakiness. Fresh pineapple notes in lingering finish with mouthwatering acidity. Serve with smoked whitefish with black truffle flavoured potatos. JL 92p (2/2019)

Intense yellow colour with slightly golden hue. Very elegant oak influence, aroma reminiscent of toasting aroma, roasted hazelnuts, discreet hints of coffee backed by rich and juicy fruit, apricots, pineapple and hints of candied lemon zest. On the palate smooth character, creamy texture, mild acidity and great aromatic length.
