Wine Description
The Story
Location This wine is selected from a 8.65 acre parcel of 40 year old vines planted on South facing slopes at the top of the village of Bué-en-Sancerre in the area called “La Plante des Prés”, one of the best “terroir” in Sancerre. |
|
Soils Limestone soil |
Vinification The old vines produce less than 45 hectolitres of wine per hectare. The grapes are hand picked and hand sorted, and the juice is fermented with wild yeasts. |
Character The wine is well balanced, archetypal Sancerre with much smoothness and elegance in flavour. The terroir is evident by the mineral characteristics and it should evolve slowly. |
