(13 months in 26% new, 37% 1yr old and 27% 2yr old French oak. 14.5% alc., TA 6.2 g/L, pH 3.60)
Spearmint! Redcurrant too. Mid weight, minty, slightly awkward acidity. You just want more flesh to match up with the oak and tannins. Slightly astringent. An early drinker according to Jamie Sachs but I think it’s a bit awkward. Wish the acid would be toned down – it’s quite sweet and sour. Will improve in bottle though, which makes the early drinking call odd. Odd wine all round.
