<10 tasting notes
It is now clear to me that I generally do not like Ruinart's older wines. Rarely has the smell of old flower water and the seal pool at the zoo been more apparent. To be perfectly honest, I dislike the smell despite almond, treacle and peanut brittle being hinted at beneath the musty base. Those points that the wine has succeeded in scraping together arise completely from the rich but unbalanced, clumsy taste. A disaster considering the vintage! I suppose I should guard myself somewhat and state that the mousse was almost dead, and that better bottles most likely exist somewhere. Furthermore, several of my tasting friends liked the bottle that I so mercilessly trashed.
