The Story
Our chardonnay shows intense yet refined nectarine, melon and citrus characters with underlying nutty, mealy notes of extended lees contact and creamy vanilla and spice of oak. These characters reflect on the palate as layers of complexity and lead to a piercingly long, mineral and citrus finish. It's drinking well now and will reward with cellaring for a further 4 -6 years.
Wine Information
“An example of Chardonnay 101 from Scotchmans Hill on the Bellarine Peninsula.
"Archetypal chardonnay, in a good way. Fleshy with stonefruit, tipped with grapefruit, clipped with oak and harmonious from start to finish. It has flavour but it also feels fresh; it boasts a succulence. It has just enough creaminess to the texture to make it feel smooth – even as the fruit races through. Nice stuff.”
