Wine Information

The cuvée
As the "pink" expression of Brut Carte Jaune, Veuve Clicquot Rosé shares the same structure:

To complete this base, the Cellar Master adds a blend of red wines sourced from selected black grapes to ensure the marvellous balance of this unique Rosé wine.

Pinot Noir dominates (50 to 55%), ensuring the intensity of the Clicquot style.
Chardonnay (28 to 33%) lends finesse and elegance.
Pinot Meunier (15 to 20%) rounds out the blend.
Priceless reserve wines (from 25% to 35%, sometimes as much as 40%), both white and red, ensure the continuity of the House style.

Veuve Clicquot Rosé
It offers the eye radiant colour, its nose is intense and elegant. Notes of raspberry, wild strawberry and cherry predominate, followed by a touch of dried fruits and pastry. In the mouth, the attack is powerful, leaving behind a harmony of fruits. Elegant and sensual, the wine offers exceptional balance and surprising intensity.

Gilbert & Gaillard
"Coppery-orange colour. An expressive nose with aromas of strawberry and very ripe wild strawberries. A full-bodied, structured, vinous palate which stays fresh. Length and character define this champagne."

Wine spectator
"The impression here is elegant overall, but there's a firm backbone of acidity that's finely meshed with the delicate range of flavors, including white raspberry, spiced plum, biscuit, pink grapefruit zest and a base note of smoky minerality. Drink now through 2017."

Written Notes

Disgorged in Jan/Feb 2011. A very pale colour, much paler than the Vintage. Think salmon or onion skin. Strawberries. There is a soft ripeness but it is very much understated. An elegant style, fragrant and balanced. It is certainly richer on the palate. Bright acidity, attractive red berries. A really impressive, classy, refined Rosé. 94

Bright, moderately intense salmon rose to pink colour. Open, lovely brioche nose with strawberries and peaches. Dry, round and mouthfilling palate with good mousse and vibrant minerality. Long and lingering finish with strawberry flavours is harmonious. Drink now. JL 92p (Oct 2021)
