Tastingbook points are formed by the Tastingbook algorithm which takes into account the wine ratings of the world's best-known professional wine critics, wine ratings by thousands of tastingbook’s professionals and users, the generally recognised vintage quality and reputation of the vineyard and winery. Wine needs at least five professional ratings to get the Tb score. Tastingbook.com is the world's largest wine information service which is an unbiased, non-commercial and free for everyone.

97points  James Suckling

“Wow. Aromas of black currant, plus a tiny hint of mint and lavender. Full body, with wonderful melted tannins that flow into the wine. Complex and beautiful.”

93 points Wine Spectator, James Molesworth

“Shows the classic dark loam, coffee and black currant profile of Maipo, with cedar-tinged but polished tannins and a long, brooding finish that displays hints of sage and tobacco. Very solid, with well-embedded acidity.”

97 points Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate (Jay Miller)

“The flagship is the 2007 Vinedo Chadwick, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it offers up a brooding bouquet of sandalwood, pencil lead, scorched earth, violets, exotic spices, blackcurrant, and blackberry. Full-bodied and dense on the palate, this is an opulent effort with layers of multi-dimensional flavors, plenty of ripe tannin, with all components in harmony. This lengthy effort will see its 30th birthday in fine form. Eduardo Chadwick has taken this wine on a world tour to blind taste it against the great wines of Bordeaux. His confidence is well placed.”

The Story

Viñedo Chadwick represents the Chadwick family’s long cherished desire to honour the memory of the late Don Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz with an Ultra Premium red wine showcasing the ancestry, tradition, and expertise of the Chadwick-Errázuriz family for producing fine wines reflecting the family’s passion for excellence. The aim is to make an elegant wine with freshness and purity, showing the Maipo Valley at its highest level. Although Don Alfonso never saw the finished wine, he is remembered with every bottle of Viñedo Chadwick.

The first vintage of Viñedo Chadwick (1999) was released to great success in 2002. Its second vintage (2000) would later make history on 23 January 2004, when the Berlin Tasting took place.

Since its inaugural release Viñedo Chadwick has consistently received the highest praise and recognition throughout its entire history, including being Robert Parker’s highest-rated Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile for five consecutive vintages.

The 2014 vintage marked a milestone for Chilean wine history, as well as for the family winery. On May 2016, Viñedo Chadwick 2014 scored a perfect 100 points, becoming the first Chilean wine to achieve the world’s highest recognition.
