Wine Description
The Story
Refreshing and fine, with the fragrance and fruit of an English orchard, our award-winning Cuvée 2013 vintage comprises of 47% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier all aged in barrel. Harvested late in the year to achieve glorious ripeness of fruit, it displays greater opulence and depth than previous vintages, whilst still retaining the Wiston signature of focus and precision.
Selected by Decanter Magazine as one of its 75 Most Exciting Wines of 2017, it has great potential like all our vintage wines to age beautifully, but is also drinking excellently now.

Press comments:
“Beautiful nose with sweet autolytic character, caramel, ripe stone fruit, pear juice and salted bread notes to finish with a full and harmonious rich texture and good persistence.” Best UK Sparkling White, Decanter World Wine Awards 2017
“Rich and creamy style, with lovely savoury notes from development. Composed and elegant with complex notes of brioche fruit and a long finish, delightful!” English Sparkling Wine Trophy, IWSC 2017 Tasting Panel
“A truly spectacular English sparkling wine, made from almost half pinot noir, with chardonnay and a hefty (20%) wallop of spicy pinot meunier. Intense precision and tons of energy.” Victoria Moore, BBC Good Food Magazine April 2018
“Ripe red apples and warm brioche showing on the nose, then stone fruit richness balanced by energy and acidity. There is a tremendous umami savouriness and an almost chocolatey yeast character. This needs time and will be very good.” Decanter Magazine January 2018
“A toasty touch of brioche joins ripe red and yellow-apple notes on the nose. The palate has even more of that autolytic richness, grounding both tart red apple and ripe lemon notes. Fine and creamy, the mousse highlights the fruit freshness while an earthier, toastier, richer background shimmers through enticingly. This harmonious and complex sparkler majors on beautiful development and pristine freshness. Lovely now, it is certain to develop further.” Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast
