Wine Description
The Story
Pepperjack Shiraz AWARDED the prestigious 2013 Visy Great Australian Shiraz Challenge Trophy, 2012.
“It is a real honour for Pepperjack to win such a prestigious and sought after award. To be voted best Shiraz in Australia from more than 300 entries is just fantastic.”
Richard Mattner, Pepperjack Winemaker.
Rich dark red in colour with a dark purple rim, the nose shows rich concentrated red and blue fruits, dark chocolate and rich mocha notes with hints of spice and cedary oak. The palate is rich and plush with good structure. There is a concentrated layer of berry fruit and oak which is balanced with the fine tannins to give length and power while finishing soft and full of flavour. This wine can be enjoyed now but will also improve with careful cellaring.
