Tulum Valley
Callia’s farm at Tulum Valley receive the warmth from the sun during the whole year making possible an enormous variety of different weathers over the different grounds, ideal to get healthy and strong grapes.
This is the most important valley of the province and is located 630 mts over the sea level. At this valley you can find 45.280 cultivated hectares with wine grapes. It’s a zone that stands out for its ground heterogeneity that can be clayey, sandy or limestone of alluvial origin.
The grape variety that stands out at this region is the Shiraz but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat, Bonarda, Malbec, Chardonnay y Viognier are important as well.
Pedernal Valley
This farm located at Pedernal Valley is the new promesse of the provincial grapes because of its close location to the Andes Mountains and its height. Is located at 1.380 meters above the sea level, has stony and alluvial ground fact that gives the grapes intense colours and fruity taste.
This farm is located in the Sarmiento department. It’s a valley that stands out because of the wide temperature range (20° C) that allows a perfect development of the cultivated varieties. The surface harvested with wine making grapes is low yet, however the region is gaining more and more prestige because of its excellent quality grapes that are produced.
The prevailing varieties are: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay.
Zonda Valley
This valley is located at 800 meters above the sea level and it is pierced through its whole extension by the San Juan River. The harvest surface with wine making grapes summons up 1.135 hectares.
The prevailing varieties are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Tannat.
