The Story
The Eberbach Monastery is not only the most valuable wine estate in Germany, it is also the German wine estate having the most steep slopes (70 hectares with a gradient of more than 35 %).It was recognized early at the Eberbach Monastery that special wines grow on the steep slopes in the Rheingau. This consideration shaped the cultural landscape in a special way in the past and still does so today.
