Historia
The Pipers Brook Vineyard, founded by Dr. Andrew Pirien in 1974, is the most important wine producer in Tasmania. Pipers Brook was the first commercial scale producer in the island, and today it produces about one third of all of Tasmania's wine production. It was interesting for Pipers Brook's initials, as it was also the subject of Dr. Phillips's dissertation, Andrew Pirien. Pirie wanted to prove that Northern Tasmania is an excellent area for producing top quality wines.
Piper Brook Vineyard owns eight farms with a total area of about 230 hectares. Tarhat are located in the valleys of the Tamar River and Pipers Brook in North Tasmania, north of the town of Launceston. The northern Tasmania rivers are located at latitude 41st. A similar location in the northern hemisphere is found in wine regions such as northern California, southern France and northern Italy. In the Southern Hemisphere, New Zealand's Marlborough is located at the equivalent latitude. The climate in Northern Tasmania is cool compared to continental Australia, producing very fresh and aromatic grapes. Pipers Brook's planters cultivate ten different varieties. In the coolest reindeer herds, early ripening varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot are cultivated. The warmer meadows of the Tamar River will later cultivate cultivating varieties such as Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
Today, the owner of the Pipers Brook Vineyard is the Belgian multilingual company Kreglinger. Under the leadership of Kreglinger, Pipers Brook Vineyard has invested in vineyards and winemaking in Mainland Australia. The house cultivates varieties such as Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in the Southern Australian Limestone Coast, whose maturation is uncertain in the cool climate of Tasmania.
Ninth Island is a cheaper wine line produced by Pipers Brook, whose wines are fruity and aromatic without the effect of oak barrels. These wines are at their best fresh and fresh. Its name is Ninth Island Wine Set from the island off the coast of North Tasmania. At one time, the island representing Tasmania was seafarers' numbers, and that island was nineth out of the Australian continent. KREGLINGER is a sparkling wine produced by Pipers Brook, whose quality is often compared to vintage Champagne by wine specialists.
