Historia
The history of the Poderi (estates) Luigi Einaudi started in 1897, when Luigi Einaudi, still only 23 years old, acquired the farmhouse ‘San Giacomo’ in the burgh of Dogliani surrounded by 40 Piedmontese giornate of vineyards (40 acres). The family Einaudi inherited the passion of continuous improvement of their vineyards.
The winery, which already in the first years of the 1920’s bottled and distributed Dolcetto, was completely renovated in 1993. The main body of the winery is almost completely under ground to reduce the visual impact and to assure a constant temperature and humidity in the areas of maturation.
A system of climate control assures constant temperature and humidity. The wine making starts in fermentation tanks of steel with computer controlled pumping over. The wine matures in medium and small barrels of French oak and the ageing is completed in bottles.
