The Story
As from the 2002 vintage RODA II was renamed RODA. Once the 17 wines coming from the 17 vineyards selected for the year have been aged one year in barrel, it is the time for RODA and RODA I to be created.
In the blending of RODA, the wines are from plots of red berry fruit characters, with aromas that are to the fore, ready for immediate enjoyment, with sweet spice notes and delicious freshness. On the palate, the red berry fruit should come through, with a refreshing mouthfeel, length, silky texture and continuous volume. They are excellent wines for gastronomic meals, very versatile, go well with fish, roast meat or a complex casserole dish.

In the line of the elegance and balance of the wines of the 2012 vintage, that were marked by a drought, poor vegetation, low production and an incredible grape health.
Harvest:
- The fundamental characteristic of the 2012 vintage is to be the second consecutive year of drought.
- 472 mm rainfall were collected in the months of the growing season, but 84 mm. were after the harvest, therefore the rainfall used for the harvest did not reach 400 mm. and we came from a previous year of 363 mm.
- The budding was late due to the cold temperatures and the scarce of water in the soil. From May the temperatures rose and the vineyard recovered the delay. It was a late harvest due to drought.
- As usual during the dry years the health of the grape was excellent.
- The self-regulation of the vine allowed that the ripening was good. There was little vegetation and low production, much lower than usual.
