The Story
Appellation: Darioush estate vineyards in Mt. Veeder, Oak Knoll, Napa Valley
Cooperage: Aged 22 months in 85% new Chateau Traditional French oak barrels
Wine Information
Blend: 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10%Merlot, 5% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot
Production: 6,631 cases
Vintage: After three consecutive, abundant vintages, the 2015 growing season reminded of the need for humility in nature’s teachings. Climatic conditions at bloom resulted in a shy-bearing vintage overall, yet, as the season progressed, as we tended and coaxed the very best from our vineyard sites, it was evident that remarkable intensity and depth would distinguish this vintage from its predecessors. 2015 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon strikes a vivid and powerful stance with its notably dense, concentrated mouthfeel and flavor profile. Dark cherry and black fruit aromas hint at its underlying plushness while the palate broadens with savory elements – black olive, soy, spice and black tea are accentuated by bright acidity, well-integrated oak and fine, sweet tannins. The 2015 is a rich, exotic, complex and aromatic wine destined to reward the patient collector.
Press:
“…the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon has a seriously plummy and spice box-inspired nose with underlying baked blackberries and kirsch notes with hints of sandalwood…[the palate] delivers a riper, berry preserves expression of the valley packed with exotic spices and floral undertones, finishing long and chewy.” | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate | October 2017 | Rated 96-98
