Ca' Salina

Ca' Salina was created by Riccardo Bortolin from the historic Bortolin winery following the division between the brothers in the 1950s. In 1993 Gregorio Bortolin built his winery inside the hill which sits behind the house and this has given him full independence in his production. Fruit of his time spent studying at catering school and his many travels, it’s Gregorio’s spirit that has led the winery to become known for its warm welcome. His vision had its crowning glory in 2011with the opening of the fantastic new tasting rooms.

The winery sits on the top of a hill in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG zone. From its windows you can admire the Prosecco Superiore vines that embroider the hills and the enchanting Strada del Vino which meanders through them. This is a large family house which has a comforting presence in the landscape, a natural stop for tourists who can enjoy our new bright and welcoming tasting rooms while admiring the stunning views over the hills and vines.

Conegliano Valdobbiadene, which received DOCG status in 2009, is at the pinnacle of quality of Prosecco, a wine which is produced exclusively in the North East of Italy in the regions of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The home of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG lies in the hilly area in the province of Treviso between the cities of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. The area is equidistant between the Dolomite mountains and the Adriatic sea, a combination which is extremely beneficial to the climate. The land here is beautiful yet very difficult to cultivate and wine growers have had to win it over inch by inch, working their beloved vines by hand.
