Wine Moments

Here you can see wine moments from tastingbook users.    or    to see wine moments from your world.

John Kapon / CEO / Ackerr Merrall & Condit, Pro (United States)  tasted  1 wines  from  Charles Noellat . In a tasting of  15 wines

Roumier is one of this collector’s favorite producers, and the auction will feature over 120 lots of his wines dating back to 1923!!! This magnum was an other-worldly experience. The wine had an incredible nose, Roumier all the way with its roses, spice, beef, cedar, minerals, cocoa powder and incredible spine, tannins and alcohol. Wowowow! Its intense leather flavors were S & M worthy, and there was enough acidity in this magnum for most cases!!! Dalia picked up some exotic ‘watermelon,’ and it was right on the money (as she usually is), although I was quick to point out that it was closer to the rind than the super sweet quality of the fruit. For someone that is not a regular drinker (I am working on that), I must admit she has some of the best innate senses that I have come across. She is the type of woman that wars are started over. Secondary flavors of rose and beef emerged, and its slate and minerality were enough to get Flintstone on the job. Incredible stuff

John Kapon / CEO / Ackerr Merrall & Condit, Pro (United States)  tasted  1 wines  from  Charles Noellat . In a tasting of  30 wines

“My notes started out with the universally accepted .Ooooooooooooo, plus or minus an o or two. This was very nutty in the nose, in an oily way this time, and was very rich and almost creamy. The palate was enormous, especially the concentration of fruit. The oily texture of the fruit was amazing and really left an impression. The nose got more and more complex, and the wine had great t .n a. The palate was .so f.ing delicious,. I put. Sometimes, less is more when it comes to the pen. It was beefy and oily with traces of toasted brown sugar. Yum - 97 points Bruno Giacosa Le Rocche del Falletto 1990.”

Thomas Alsgaard, Pro (Norway)  tasted  1 wines  from  Charles Noellat . In a tasting of  18 wines

““Cheval Blanc 1949 / Bottle in good condition and filled to top-shoulder. Looking deep, brick red and healthy. Intense, refined, opulent and generous on the nose. The taste is fresh, fragrant, ripe, focused, balanced, complex, concentrated, mature and full-bodied. With dried-fruit, leather, port-like, blackberry, toasty, truffles and vanilla flavor. Long, round, lingering and pure. Excellent and impressive. Decanted 1t and drink between 2020 and 2030. Costs about 1k-3k€ per bottle. 96 points””
