VINEYARDS
Vineyards: 23,0 ha
Organic since 1988
The Geyerhof vineyards are situated on the best hillside sites in the Kremstal region south of the Danube River. The vineyard plots encompass a broad spectrum of diverse soil types. High quality wines are ensured by metamorphic rock, loess, sand or tertiary gravel that meet the specific needs of various grape varieties and rootstocks. In addition to this, the proximity to the Danube River is advantageous to intense aroma development due to the large temperature fluctuations between day and night.
VARIETIES
As is suitable to our region and the soil, white wine varieties are the core of our wine assortment. Grüner Veltliner is the leading variety and exhibits versatility of expression of place in a series of single-vineyard wines. Riesling comprises a fruity contrast and excels with its ability to age extraordinarily well. Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Chardonnay and the red wine variety Zweigelt offer delicious completion of our range of wines.
Organic cultivation, manual harvest and minimal intervention in the winemaking process lead to wines of authentic character that reflect the uniqueness of the vintage, the terroir, and the grape variety.
Wine is the focus of daily life at Geyerhof. Joy and respect for life determine our actions.
