The Story

This wine is structured by the black Champagne grapes, it is typical of the Gardet style while originating from oak-aged wines only. Its unhidden and powerful character will delight unordinary Champagne lovers.

Technical notes_ Selected Reserve is the perfect balance between the three Champagne grape varieties, with one third each of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay. It includes 25% of oak-aged reserve wines and the full blend is aged for one year in “foudres” (large oak barrels).

Dosage: 4 g/l.

Ageing: 7 to 9 years on lees.

Cellaring: ready to drink, it will keep up to 5 years.

Serving temperature: between 8 and 10°C.

Characteristics: The colour is a rather shining deep yellow gold. On the nose it is clean and delicate at first, then opening to a hint of wheat aromas. The overall appears like a gentleman, bringing a sensation of elegance and seriousness. The palate releases the true character of this wine with pronounced aromas of fruit jelly, candied fruit (orange) associated with soft species (cinnamon). Its texture is clean, still following the gentleman manners of this Champagne. The underlying minerality expresses itself all through the tasting as the base of this wine’s personality. It highlights its complexity and power.

Food pairings: This Champagne will perfectly match flavorful meats such as roast beef, lamb shoulder or duck breast fillet. It can also be tasted on its own at the end of the meal, taking the time to enjoy its true nature.
