This unique red wine is a rather newly expression of Argiano's winegrowing potential compared to its Sangiovese-based reds. ‘Solengo’, a Tuscan word meaning 'lone wild boar', marries Tuscan soil with French grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Syrah. Incredibly strong and dense in the glass it moves in a graceful, dynamic way showing a top-player profile in the sensory richness that touches various spheres. The scents of plums meet black prunes, wild blackberries and crushed blueberries. In the background hints of cedar, calendula and marjoram animate the secondary scene. Full bodied, velvety tannins of incredible workmanship and a solid, compact finale which closes savoury and juicy generating a great temptation to return to the glass immediately. A milestone of Italian enology it exalts in the sunny, strong vintage of the extraordinary year of 2019 in Tuscany. Better from 2024.
