In 2003 we bought the first farms of La Raia. Today it is a single 180 hectares estate, comprising vineyards, pastures, cultivated fields and chestnut woodland inhabited by wild animals. My children suggested me to take up the biodynamic organic approach to recover the original note of this terroir which have been cherishing the indigenous Cortese vine for centuries. Winemaking
The indigenous Cortese and Barbera vines are planted in a clay limestone land, with a density of 4,500 vines per hectare and an age ranging from 9 to 70 years. From the oldest ones the Gavi Riserva and the Gavi Pisé are obtained.
