Written Notes

Throughout the tasting for the Competition, a few wines snuck through and when revealed, were surprising – by which I mean that I had expected them to impress a little more. All sorts of reasons. Certainly for a few, the dreaded cork. In this case, I think it is one of those wines that has subtlety and elegance and does not stand out in the line up. Consequently, easy to miss and it suffers for that, when in reality, no fault of its own. I'd like to think that this is one of those wines, as it has always hugely impressed in the past. That said, it was still a lovely wine. Fresh, very pleasant floral notes. It is gentle and elegant. Perhaps didn't have quite the length one would wish on this tasting. Fine effort from the Mornington Peninsula.
