History
The name Gratavinum derives from the combination of the name of the village, Gratallops, and Vinum (wine in Latin). The wine is made in honor of the Romans who introduced vine cultivation to Priorat many centuries ago. In the rugged landscape of the Priorat, vines struggle to survive in the harsh climate and infertile soils. Gratavinum’s vineyards consist primarily of old vines, typical of Priorat.
