History
The Dassault family, passionate pioneers in the aeronautic industry, new technologies and the art market, became interested in fine wines very early.
In 1892 Victor Beylot created the Château Couperie vineyard which was bought in 1959 by Marcel Dassault who gave it his name and invested in it to bring it up to Grand Cru level by 1969. Today Laurent Dassault is in charge of the vineyard and cares for it with the same pride and passion as his grandfather did. Since 1995, with Laurence Brun, he has devoted himself to the important question of improving quality. Draining the soil, controlling the yield, careful management of the vines, and a double thinning out of leaves all contribute to help grow perfectly healthy grapes that arrive at maximum maturity. Extremely selective sorting of the grape harvest and then vinification by plots in small concrete vats all help to enhance the values of the grapes.
