Wine Information
Chardonnay without oak? Yes! Our first ever Chardonnay hails exclusively from Conner Lee Vineyard and offers mineral and citrus notes, a crisp style with silky textures and big flavor. We wanted to showcase the true flavor of Washington Chardonnay unobstructed by oak. This wine is definitely in search of mussels, crab or any kind of shellfish.

Notes from the Winemaker
Spring/Summer 2012
Its late May and the sun is trying to make an appearance more than a few days a week here in western Washington. In Eastern Washington the plants are showing signs of life and we are hoping for a wonderful growing season this year.
Our year has started off amazing with our first G.S.M in February and the May Cabernet Franc release reminds us how many people love what we are doing here. On the 23rd of June we will be releasing our 2011 Sauvignon Blanc and our first ever 100% Mourvedre Rosé! We will be a hosting a fundraiser on July 21st for our new neighbors, a no-kill shelter called Homeward Pet. All are welcome to come out and join the festivities. Lastly, more amazing 2009 wines to be released this year are Reserve Cabernet & '10 Little Bear Creek in September and our first ever 100% Petite Verdot & Indomitable in November!
In late March I went on a dream trip to France visiting many of the wine regions I have so much respect for like Bordeaux, Burgundy, Southern Rhone, and the Loire valley. I made many appointments at wineries and even visited two of our barrel producers to watch the process of building the barrels for the first time. The education of walking these vineyards, tasting lots of wines, and enjoying the culture will no doubt have a great influence on me in future years.
We have, in the past few years, made extra efforts to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Two harvests ago we started to have all pressings and stalks taken away by Cedar Grove Organics. We also changed the majority of the glass we use to a line called 'ECO Series,' mostly made locally, using less energy to produce and truck around. Also, it's better on the back when going to lift! Starting this July we will be bottling are top-end wines in lighter glass that is less bulky than in the past. Bigger is not better!
As always, I love the opportunity to make great wines for you and look forward to the future for new and exciting wines.
Cheers,
Sean Boyd
