The Story
This is an organic wine made using organic grapes that retain the benefits of red wine, namely the tannins, anthocyanins and antioxidants. The cool temperatures at the start of spring and the abundant rainfall delayed the budding of the vineyard slightly. The rain, which has been retained in the soil, will be very important for the rest of the vine's growing cycle. Spring was followed by a summer with temperatures slightly higher than normal. Rainfall in the summer was similar to the average of recent years. However, September was particularly dry. Even so, the water reserves in the soil accumulated in winter and spring were sufficient for optimum plant performance. The result: A balanced and abundant harvest with very ripe grapes.
Winemaking: 18 days maceration on lees.
Tasting notes: In the glass, very good depth and a solid, bright, ripe cherry red. The nose is dominated by notes of the purest, most primary Tinto Fino variety, reminiscent of black fruits, violet and licorice There are also notes of toffee and vanilla. Lively mouth with a prominent but ripe tanning and a long finish.
