It’s hard to imagine a wine estate with a more tasteful domicile: a medieval castle, massive in size yet full of nooks and crannies, surrounded by a spacious park of giant trees that have weathered the centuries. This has been the home of the Adelmann family since 1914, when they acquired the castle and its grounds. It was previously owned by the Barons von Brusselle, reinterpreted as „Brüssele“ in local dialect, and immortalized on the estate’s labels to this day.
The Estate Graf Adelmann stands for fine Rieslings and red wines; the very finest bear the well-known label „Brüssele’r Spitze.“ Traditionally, the Adelmann wines are dry, and the reds are endowed with powerful tannins. Yet the white wines of Graf Adelmann are also highly rated, particularly Riesling. Traminer and Weissburgunder are excellent with meals.
