The Story
Blend: Chardonnay 75%, Pinot Noir 25%
Age of vines: 25 years in average
Vineyards: South to South East exposure located between 180-350 metres altitude.
Fermentation: Part of the base wine was vinfied in 228L oak barrels.
Ageing: 4 years on lees
The vintage: An unusual year. The long spring was characterized by short, light showers. The summer was mild, with the snow capping the Pre-Alps longer than usual. Flowering and ripening occurred in perfewct sunlight and wind conditions, with nighttime temperatures below 17°C. Harvesting (2-18 September) involved waiting patinetly for each bunch to reach perfect and homogeneous maturity.
Perlage: The superfine bead creates fascinating, continuous whirls and forms a persistent mousse.
Colour: Bright, weightless, transparent, deel yellow, with the green highlights typical of youth.
Nose: A classic style, with sweet notes of ripe white-fleshed fruit from the hilltops. Hints of white amonds and pastry, candied citrus fruit and fresh whitethorn and elderberry blossom.
Taste: Elegant yet powerful attacj, associated with exuberant, dynamic and harmonious freshness. Complex, multifaceted, supple texture, with a distinctively expressive verticality and energy. Extremely persistent.
