Wine Information

The 2012 BRAND Proprietary Blend exhibits aromas of vibrant red fruits and cassis along with overtones of black cherry, violets and forest floor. On the palate this wine shows bright, complex flavors of both red and black fruits, accented with notes of vanilla, coffee, tobacco and spice. The tannins are seamless and are complimented with balanced acidity and a long, lingering finish. Truly an amazing cuvee!

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc
91 cases produced

HARVESTED October 1-15, 2012

VINEYARD
At an elevation of up to 1600 feet overlooking Lake Hennessey on Pritchard Hill, is the well-drained rocky red volcanic soil above the cloud and fog line; the ultimate vineyard environment of BRAND.

VINTAGE
Due to drought conditions during the winter bud break came early, with perfect weather and stress from the lack of water contributing smaller, more intense fruit. All of this allowed for yields ranging 20 to 30% higher than historical averages.

VINIFICATION
Grapes were sorted in the field and winery and fermented in small, jacketed stainless steel tanks. Barrel aging occurred in 85% new French oak for 21 months and the wine was bottled without fining or filtration.
