Seriously interesting effort, this. From four vineyards in the Karridale region of Margaret River (southern part). The semillon is fermented in year old French hogsheads. This makes a crucial contribution to the texture. It is a 54/46% split between the two varieties. There is some older material but well within the 85/15% rule.
The wine is slightly nutty with some citrus and herbal notes. A lemony finish adds to this and we have a very impressive example of the style. The key is the textural component.
