The Story

Malescot-St-Exupéry's wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot - it is matured in oak barriques, 80% of which are new, for 16 months and is bottled unfiltered.

Malescot-St-Exupéry can be light and lean when young but after 6-7 years of cellaring displays a seductive perfume and a harmonious and silky texture which few wines from Margaux can match.

Written Notes

Deep purple red with violet hue and black core. Multi-layered, excellent style, complex aroma reminiscent of dark chocolate, roasting aroma, ripe plums and blackcurrants, hints of vanilla in the background. On the palate excellent structure and length, with wonderful mouthfeel.

Deep colour. Liquorice, blackberry essence, dark chocolate aromas. Sweet blackberry, dark chocolate flavours, fine plentiful chocolaty tannins and beautifully seasoned new oak complexity. Firm but long juicy finish. Well balanced wine with plenty of potential. 95 points

Malescot Saint Exupery Margaux - 70% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot Very pure and intense on the nose, redcurrants, the palate is polished and silky. This is impressive in size too, lots of structure here. Long and fine, very good concentration one of the best in the Margaux appellation. Very long. 92-95/100 2025-2045
