The Story

By now it’s classic: every year, at the beginning of September, our neighbouring vintner calls to remind us not to forget about our grapes in Mango, as so many have already picked it all... But we do prefer to wait the moment that will give us the splendid aromas of this variety and the continuity of fruit and wine fl avors that Moscato is able to other. – Giuseppe Vaira –

DESCRIPTION

Moscato is part of the wine and culinary tradition in Piemonte. We look for purity, preserve its natural vivacity, and hope this wine can always accompany our family and friends’ most festive and joyous moments.

VINEYARD

The Riforno Vineyard, in the Comune of Mango, was planted between 1986 and 2007. The sun exposure is completely South, on the very tip of the hill.

FARMING

Vajra has always believed in sustainable farming and keeps the turf natural and green in the vineyard. No irrigation is used while thinning is decided according to the vintage.

HARVEST AND WINEMAKING

Harvesting of Moscato takes place the rst week of September. We start at dawn so we can bring the cool dew dropped grapes straight to the cellar. A so pressing and brief cold stabilization precede the fermentation which can last about 7 days. The Moscato sits in special steel vats, able to preserve its natural effervescence. The first bottling, in November, is ready just in time for celebrating during the Christmas holidays.

TASTING NOTES

Greenish yellow with straw yellow hues. Expressive aromas of sage and fresh yellow fruits such as apricots, peaches and exotic fruits. A delicate yet persistent perlage, refreshess and cleans your palate. e balance between sweetness and freshness carry on into a long creamy nish.
